Former Resident Minister and Minister of Social Welfare, Alhaji Emmanuel Moijuel Kaikai, has extended financial assistance and support to Alieu Kondewa, a former Kamajor leader and prominent figure associated with the Civil Defence Forces (CDF) during Sierra Leone’s civil war.

On 1 October 2026, Alhaji Kaikai visited Alieu Kondewa at his residence and offered financial assistance to support him as he continues to face health and welfare challenges.

Alieu Kondewa was among the prominent CDF figures prosecuted by the Special Court for Sierra Leone, alongside Sam Hinga Norman and Moinina Fofana, in connection with the country’s civil war.

At the time of the arrest and prosecution of the Kamajor leaders, Alhaji Emmanuel Moijuel Kaikai was serving as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the SLPP in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Responding to the assistance, Alieu Kondewa said the gesture did not come as a surprise to him, explaining that Alhaji Emmanuel Moijuel Kaikai had supported him before. His response highlights an existing relationship of support and solidarity between the two men.

Alhaji Kaikai has over the years been recognized by supporters for his philanthropic activities in the Southern Region and across Sierra Leone, particularly his willingness to assist people facing difficult circumstances.
