Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, chaired a high-level meeting of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Executive Management Board, bringing together senior police officers to deliberate on critical issues relating to institutional governance, national security, police reforms and operational effectiveness.
The strategic engagement provided a platform for the country’s police leadership to assess ongoing developments within the Force, review emerging security concerns and discuss measures aimed at enhancing professionalism, accountability and the overall delivery of policing services across Sierra Leone.
During the meeting, Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh received updates from senior officers on the progress of police reform initiatives, operational challenges and institutional priorities within their respective areas of responsibility.
He noted that the discussions focused on key governance, security and operational matters affecting the Sierra Leone Police, emphasizing the importance of continuous collaboration between Government and security institutions to strengthen national stability and public safety.
“Today, I chaired a meeting of the Sierra Leone Police Executive Management Board, where we discussed key governance, security, and operational issues affecting the Force,” Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh stated.
The Vice President described the engagement as an important opportunity to gain firsthand insights from senior police officers serving across the country, particularly regarding the progress made and challenges encountered in implementing police reform programmes.
“It is always refreshing to hear firsthand from senior officers across the country on police reform,” he added.
Dr. Juldeh Jalloh stressed the importance of maintaining open channels of communication between Government and security leadership, noting that effective policing requires strong institutional coordination, professional leadership and a commitment to accountability.
