RCBank Highlights Impact Of Digital Innovation & Financial Inclusion On Economic Growth
Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank) has showcased its commitment to digital transformation and financial inclusion following a high-level presentation at the Second Edition of the Sierra Leone–Canada Trade, Investment and Cultural Summit (SLCA 2026) held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Representing the Bank at the summit, Managing Director, Dr. Walton Gilpin, delivered the keynote address during the Digital Technology and Investment track on the theme, “Digital Trust and Financial Inclusion: Building a Modern Banking Ecosystem for International Investors.”
Dr. Gilpin’s presentation highlighted the importance of trusted financial systems, secure digital platforms and modern banking infrastructure in strengthening investor confidence and facilitating cross-border investments between Sierra Leone and Canada.

He outlined RCBank’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, highlighting strategic investments and innovative solutions aimed at expanding access to financial services, while maintaining strong standards of security, transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
According to Dr. Gilpin, the Bank’s digital initiatives are designed to improve access to banking services, particularly for underserved communities, while creating a reliable and secure financial environment that strengthens the confidence of international investors.
He further explained that the integration of technology with effective regulatory frameworks presents significant opportunities for Sierra Leone’s banking sector, with digital finance serving as a catalyst for investment growth, financial accessibility and stronger economic partnerships between Sierra Leone and Canada.
