Security Sector Assures Nationwide Safety on Labour Day

As Sierra Leone commemorates this year’s National Labour Day, the country’s security sector has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property nationwide.

In a joint message, the leadership of the Office of National Security (ONS), alongside the Inspector General of Police (IG) and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), assured citizens that Sierra Leone remains peaceful and secure. They emphasized that all security agencies are fully deployed and actively engaged in maintaining law, order, and public safety throughout the celebrations.

The security leadership also joined the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in recognizing and applauding the dedication, resilience, and invaluable contributions of the nation’s workforce. They noted that efforts to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and a positive mindset among both labour and security personnel are critical to national development.

National Security Coordinator, Abdulai Caulker, together with heads of the security sector, expressed strong support for the occasion. He reiterated that the security forces remain ever ready to uphold peace, justice, and unity for all Sierra Leoneans.

The statement further acknowledged the leadership of His Excellency the President for promoting the values of hard work, national cohesion, and respect for workers across the country.

The security sector concluded by extending warm wishes to all citizens, encouraging collective efforts toward building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Sierra Leone.
