Justice Sahr Elogima Kekura JA of the High Court Criminal Sessions in Kambia has sentenced Alimamy Kamara to eight years’ imprisonment on one count charge to wit; house breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the larceny Act of 1916. According to the particulars of offence, on the 1st June 2025, at Masorie Village, Samu Chiefdom, Kambia District, North West Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alimamy Kamara was alleged to have broken and entered the dwelling house of Ibrahim Sorie Fofanah and stolen a physical cash of eight thousand leones(Le 8,000).
When the charge was read and explained to him, Kamara pleaded guilty.
In the absence of an attorney, Kamara pleaded with the judge to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Justice Kekura while delivering his judgment said for the fact that the suspect did not waste the court’s time and has also pleaded for mercy, he thereby sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment.
Kamara will serve his sentence at the Male Correctional Facility in Kambia.
