Jagaban Installs 50 Solar Streetlights In Madina Town

On 10 July 2025, in a gesture hailed as both generous and impactful, Sheik Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, a prominent figure in the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Party, installed 50 solar-powered streetlights in Madina Town, Tonko-Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District.

The installation marks a significant step toward improved security and beautification of the township. Local authorities and residents alike welcomed the development with open arms.

Paramount Chief Alimamy Korgba IV praised Jagaban for his continued dedication to community development, stating, “This initiative will bring lasting benefits to our people, especially in strengthening local security and enhancing our town’s image.”

Other local leaders echoed the sentiment, highlighting the tangible benefits the streetlights will bring to businesses, commuters, and night-time safety.

This is not the first time Jagaban has championed such projects. Similar solar lighting systems have been successfully implemented in Brookfields Community in Freetown, his native Blama Town in Small Bo Chiefdom, and other parts of the country.

Residents in Madina Town expressed deep appreciation for the effort, calling it a symbol of leadership that prioritizes the people’s welfare. As one community elder put it, “Jagaban continues to lead with action, not just words.”

The project stands as another milestone in Jagaban’s growing legacy of community empowerment across Sierra Leone.
