The National Coordinator for the Internal Election Management Committee (IEMC), Comrade Hassan Kamara Esq, is encouraging all party members who have not yet verified their information, or new members, who intend to register, to do so now.

He made this appeal on Saturday at the Galliness Paradise Hotel reception hall in Bo, during the three-day retreat of the APC Young Congress, themed “Stronger Together: Uniting Youth to Build a Victorious APC.”

Noteworthy is the fact that the IEMC is the only body within the party authorized to conduct elections at all levels, including for all organs and affiliate bodies, and to count and announce results, as stated in Articles 42 and 54 of the party’s March 2022 constitution.

Given the critical role of the IEMC, the National Coordinator was given the honor to speak on behalf of the Committee

During the proceedings, the National Coordinator introduced his dedicated team of coordinators present. He then expressed sincere gratitude to the party leadership for their continued support of the committee.

Coordinator Kamara Esq informed party members that the primaries are scheduled to commence in a few months, and urged everyone to verify their registration status. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all members are listed on the voter register, as those not included will not be permitted to enter the hall during the voting process.

Apparently, Comrade Kamara Esq confirmed that the (IEMC) is fully prepared to facilitate the upcoming party elections.

In a demonstration of this readiness, the IEMC used the occasion to unveil its new slogan for the election season in Krio: “IEMC WE TINAP FOR FREE AND FAIR ELECTION,” which translates to “IEMC Stands for Free and Fair Elections” in English.

Furthermore, comrade Kamara Esq, announced that in advance of the elections, the committee intends to conduct two important activities: a technical retreat focused on planning, which will include committee members, the legal team, and various constitutional experts; and a nationwide sensitization campaign aimed at educating members and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

More importantly,  the retreat brought together esteemed senior party members, including the acting Chairman, Dr. Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq, National Publicity Secretary, Sidi Yayah Tunis, Financial Secretary, Osman Jalloh, Deputy Organizing Secretary, Chernor S. Kamara, Regional Chairpersons, District Chairmen, Mayors, District Council Chairpersons, Deputy Mayors, Members of Parliament, Councilors, and dynamic youth leaders from across the country, along with affiliate bodies.
