Jagaban Commits To Empower Cow Yard Market Women
On May 18, 2025, the Caw Yard Market Women Friends of Jagaban (mainly widows and single mothers) gathered to appeal for financial assistance to revive their small businesses. Held at his Kenema residence, the solidarity event highlighted their desire for economic empowerment and sustainable growth.
The women directed their appeal to Jagaban, a respected political figure known for championing grassroots development. Their message: support us not just to survive, but to thrive.
Vice Chairperson, Madam Mamie, of the group, expressed gratitude for Jagaban’s past community outreach, detailing the women’s struggles to balance family and entrepreneurship. Chairlady, Madam Fatmata Kemoh, reaffirmed their loyalty to Jagaban, calling him a beacon of hope.
“We are not just market women—we are providers and economic builders,” said Kemoh.
Jagaban responded with appreciation, promising financial aid and a personal visit to better understand their challenges. He praised their courage and vowed to help strengthen their trade.
The women remain hopeful that this initiative sparks wider support for grassroots female entrepreneurs.
