609 Pilgrims From Sierra Leone Set to Perform 2024 Hajj

The Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj in Sierra Leone, Alhaji Muratada Sesay, has confirmed that a total of 609 pilgrims from Sierra Leone will be participating in the 2024 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to the Information Attache from Saudi Arabia Embassy, Abu Bakarr Bah, confirmed that the Presidential Task Force Chairman disclosed that the delegation will be comprised of 2 medical doctors, 1 pharmacist, 2 nurses, and 3 members of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj.

He furthered that among the 609 pilgrims, 60% are self-sponsored, while 40% are beneficiaries of government scholarships. He noted that the Presidential Task force on Hajj has made arrangements and negotiated with Ethiopian Airlines to ensure that the pilgrims are flown to Saudi Arabia in two batches, between 31st May and 1st June 2024 respectively.

In recent times, the Government of Sierra Leone’s Presidential Hajj Task Force has issued important information for Sierra Leoneans registered to perform Hajj in 2024.

According to recent update from the Presidential Task Force, Orientation of Pilgrims started on 2nd May and ended on 15th May. The pilgrims are expected to land in Madina, Islam’s second holiest city, before proceeding to Makkah for the 1445 Hajj.
