President Bio to engage in face –to- face discussion with citizens

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE), in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), has announced five major civic town hall sessions as part of the 2025 Salone Civic Festival. This annual national event aims to promote civic engagement with Ministries, Departments and Agencies in order for them to showcase, and celebrate Salone’s rich cultural heritage and foster meaningful dialogue on the country’s development path.
“This flagship event brings together citizens, government institutions, development partners, artists and innovators to showcase our achievements and chart the way forward for our beloved nation,” said Minister Chernor Bah, Minister of Information and Civic Education.
The town hall sessions will be held over three days at the Miatta Civic Center, featuring expert panelists and moderators tailored to each discussion topic.
The schedule is as follows:
Day 1 – Thursday, December 11, 2025: Feed Salone & Food Security
Government officials, partners, and youth representatives will discuss what has been done so far in the Feed Salone initiative, and provide strategies to enhance food security in Sierra Leone. His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio will deliver the keynote address. Audience members will have opportunities to ask questions and engage.
Day 2 – Thursday, December 12, 2025: Two Town hall
Data Trends & Youth Empowerment, with keynote speaker; Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh.
Human Capital Development, focusing on strengthening the nation’s workforce and education systems.
Day 3 – Friday, December 13, 2025: Two Town hall
Improved Governance, New Constitution, New Census, New Localities, highlighted by Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh’s keynote speech.
Economy, Energy and Productivity, exploring ways to boost economic growth and sustainable energy solutions.
