Minister Kai Lawrence Bayoh: Not happy with VP Juldeh Jalloh

Expressing anger and frustration about the whole process , KLM drew the attention of his SLPP Members in the ‘SLPP Paopa Commando Group’ to be aware of the situation at hand in which the Vice President was alleged to have played an active role securing the release of the accused Jihad Basma at the time  he was at CID. This he said, is a case of injustice which he wants  members of his party to fully understand. ‘‘When the matter was reported at CID in Freetown, the main suspect Jihad Basma was arrested but was later released after three hours on instructions from the Vice President. This the Minister said did not go down well with him and therefore decided to reach out to VP in order to confirm and ascertain the fact. ” When I called the Vice President, he told me that the father of Jihad Basma, Kassim Basma now late had supported him financially with payment of school fees and that because of that he would not sit down and see his son suffer while he is in position to assist. This statement by the Vice president made me felt downtrodden, Minister Bayoh stated.

Jihad Basma:

He called on members of the SLPP to talk to the Vice president to hands-off the matter and allow justice to prevail. He added that from evidence within their possession, it is clear that the diamond stolen was 264 carats worth $ 42 million. We have earlier agreed on several negotiations to lay the issue to rest but yet we haven’t been able to reach at a meeting point because the suspect keep playing games. And the worse is that the vice president is fully behind them and this is causing us heavy pain to get justice, Minister Bayoh narrated. The matter is expected to come up on the 30th December this year.

In an effort to contact the Vice president on the said matter, his lines could not be reached despite several attempts of phone calls. However, we are open to get his side of the story at any time he is available.
