THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY: WHY SIERRA LEONE CITIZENS SHOULDN’T PRAY FOR GOVERNMENT FAILURE

In a political landscape like Sierra Leone often marked by division, animosity, and differing ideologies, it is not uncommon for specific set of citizens to harbour negative feelings towards their government and wish for its failure. However, praying for the failure of the government can have serious consequences on the stability and progress of the country.

Here are some compelling reasons why Sierra Leone citizens should resist the urge to pray for government failure:

Common Good: A government’s primary role is to serve the interests of its citizens and work towards the betterment of society as a whole. By wishing for government failure, citizens engaging in this action are essentially hoping for policies and programmes that are designed to benefit them to fall short. This attitude undermines the common good and hinders progress.
