Issa Abdul Karim Fofanah born on 7th August, 1999 was the head of a popular radio Program called “Watin Dae Wiror Wiror Na d country.” This program has captured the listing Public especially on issues surrounding the politicians, economy and research on foodstuffs in the local market and has created a lot of heated debate among the general public as the program discusses issues of public interest. Mr. Fofanah is a journalist an also a Human Right Activist doing his work and Advocacy at the popular Radio Frequency on 104.5 Fm at Forth Street in the capital Freetown. Since the introduction of his burning issues program on radio, Mr. Fofanah has been receiving death threat, attacked from individuals, with sticks, has sustain several injuries including broken legs and swollen eyes. He was accused of causing political violence and unrest at around 11:00am On 11th August, 2022. According to reports, three people were killed in the incident on that particular date.
They further alleged that, Mr. Fofanah was among those accused of planning and causing mayhem on the people of this country by using his radio program and inciting violence. According to the report on that particular date on, 11th August 2022 during the popular radio program called “Watin Dae Wiror Wiror Na D Contry,” which aims and objectives is to look into issues surrounding politicians, the economy and prizes of foodstuff in the market which is affecting the common man, Mr. Fofanah was almost beaten to death and demonstrations resulted to killing of three people as alleged by the police. On the 14th April 2020 and 11th August, 2022 respectively, it was alleged that on 11th August, 2022 following investigations on the political violence, the police put out a warrant of arrest in force for Issa Abdul Karim Fofanah on 20th August 2022. Mr. Fofanah’s Wife, Emma Turay s residence in Mountain cut, Freetown was also attacked by certain unknown individuals,. Mr.
Fofanah has received death threat and attacked on multiple times that resulted to broken leg, eye injured chorionic internal pain on the chest as well has brought panic and fear to the life of Mr. Fofanah and his enter family. He was taken to Masemra village to fix up his broken leg in 2020. a year late he, decided to continue the job and later escaped from Sarola hospital, after being admitted there for few hours on medical grounds and passed through Kambia to Guinea in order to run for his life. Investigations are still ongoing but Issa Abdulkarim Fofanah is still nowhere to be found. He was declared wanted by Sierra Leone police for the offenses of incitement and riotous misconduct and his photos have been deployed in all the police stations in the western Are and urban respectively and the police is encouraging the general public to give any information leading to his arrest.
