Justice Samuel O. Taylor of the High Court has proven to the entire world that he is not only a no-nonsense Judge, but also a committed and dedicated figure in the judiciary, who does not mix matters. His credibility tested by society, especially fuel dealers, has proven to be a reliable figure, as he successfully concluded a matter between Jaffer Zeghir (Plaintiff) of 36B Bai Bureh Road in Freetown and Leonoil Company Limited (Defendant), and judgment was delivered on Wednesday 7th February 2024.
In his judgment, Justice Taylor ordered that the Defendant (Leonoil) return the 200, 000 liters of fuel bought by the Complainant and a cost will be determined by both Counsels for the Plaintiff and Defendant.
The matter was concluded on Friday 18th June 2021 and was reserved for judgment.
Jaffer Zeghir, Chief Executive Officer of SKM Group of Companies, told this medium that he is delighted at the judgment delivered, adding that after three years of struggling in the matter, he can now breathe a sigh of relief. “I trust the justice system, which is why I have been patiently awaiting this fateful day,” he said, and continued that during this period, some of his fuel stations were shut down, due to a lack of fuel products, and lost some of his key staff. He implored the judiciary to continue with the good job and appealed to others in the industry to trust in the judiciary.
