As a proud Muslim woman and humanitarian engaged in active service to my country and the global community, I consider it a privilege to have been hosted at the Welfare Square and Humanitatian Centre of the Mormons.
I was truly impressed to discover how this institution has developed a practical system of helping humanity akin to what we Muslims refer to as “Zakat” or charitable offerings. They support those in need through production warehouses funded by contributions collected from a day of fasting among their global membership, thereby ensuring the ongoing support of Welfare Square.
This establishment plays a vital role in assisting local impoverished communities in Salt Lake City, emphasizing volunteerism and the practical application of faith to uplift humanity.
During the tour, I gained valuable insights into the importance of sustainability, through volunteerism in delivering essential services such as food production, packing, and distribution, both locally and globally.
