LeonOil Exposes Appeals Court Injustice against Jaffer
By Thaimu Thullah
LeonOil, a corporate entity in Sierra Leone, whose ownership is presently under scrutiny by the media and many Sierra Leoneans, has been questioned time without number and has exposed the conspiracy theory hatched between them and the Sierra Leone Judiciary to suppress Justice.
In a special paid up media article circulates on various media platforms, LeonOil, feeling jittery after their failed conspiracy theory to suppress justice in a matter between Jaffer Hussien Zaghir versus LeonOil, now in the Appeals Court, has come up with another failed and calculated lie to defame Jaffer and SKM on allegations of tax fraud.
SKM, a well-known company has a good track record of honoring its tax obligations, and has never been found wanting for tax fraud or anything related to tax fraud. Digressing on the issue before the Court, LeonOil disappointedly deceived their writers, hoodwinking them to believe that the judgment delivered earlier by the High Court Judge, Justice Samuel Taylor, ordering LeonOil to pay Jaffer a total of six billion old Leones or supply the 200,000 litres of petroleum products owed Jaffer, was violated because Jaffer refused to pay tax to the government. The Judgment in question was so explicit that even a class three pupil will read and digest it without any issue. Jaffer was never asked or requested by the court to pay tax before the products will be supplied. This is a case of double jeopardy. Jaffer was said to have paid tax at the time he paid for the products at Leonoil. Another deceitful lie is the propaganda that Jaffer paid for 430,000 litres, another black lie. Documents in possession of this writer and also before the Court, never made mention of 430,000 litres, as LeonOil wants the public to believe.
By clear indication, it is an open secret that the number of years the matter has taken in the court of law, could as well be describe as a ‘‘clever strategy’’ to undermine and suppress justice. If LeonOil believes in fair and transparent system, they could allow the process to go fair and supply the required petroleum products due to Jaffer, instead of using influence to suppress justice.
