Air Senegal to start operation in Sierra Leone

 

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Senegal, His Excellency Alhaji Brima Elvis Koroma, says it is good for regional integration as Air Senegal commences its first flight to Freetown on Monday August 2nd, 2021 at 4:00pm.

Air Senegal is opening its new Dakar – Freetown service via Banjul, a new line that consolidates the strategic development plans aimed at linking the large cities of West Africa to Dakar. The Flight will run two times a week: Mondays and Fridays.

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Dakar, Senegal His Excellency Alhaji Brima Elvis Koroma was on-board Air Senegal as it made its maiden run from the Blaise Diagne Internarional Airport, Senegal to the Freetown International Airport, Sierra Leone.

Air Senegal is adding to Trans Air, which resumed flight on March 13th, 2021 from Dakar-Conakry and Dakar-Freetown thrice a week. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and also ASKY Airline, which flies from Freetown, Ghana, Togo and Dakar and vice versa.

Ambassador Alhaji Brima Elvis Koroma described the Air Senegal flight to Sierra Leone as a huge relief to passengers on both sides. He says the flight will further boost trade, investment and tourism between Sierra Leone and Senegal.

Ambassador Koroma thanked President Macky Sall for upholding his vision of regional integration and for deepening the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and Senegal.

In 2016 Air Senegal was created to replace Senegal Airlines, which was under liquidation; and in 2018, commenced its domestic flights. The Sierra Leone Embassy thereafter engaged the Management of Air Senegal to extend its services to Sierra Leone.
