My fellow Sierra Leoneans, I write to express the admiration I have for my husband, my leader, and my love, Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally, and manisfest him to be a genius.
I have lived in the USA, was an employee before becoming an entrepreneur, and employed nurses, therapists, and medical doctors.
Trust me, before I met the Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally, my thoughts were different, like most of our brothers and sisters living in the diaspora. I would not have understood his belief in Sierra Leone and Africa. My husband is among the few Sierra Leoneans who had the chance to travel to the US to study and help manage his late father’s businesses in the US, but refused, with strong conviction, realizing better opportunities exist in Sierra Leone and Africa.
Many, including his childhood friends and relatives, thought he made a grave mistake, but he faced and challenged the struggles we ran away from, and became a success story…which goes to show that everything we need is right in front of us. He believed that talents must be meaningfully utilized in nation-building, as higher education is not the only road to success.
He changed my perception about Africa, including our country, Sierra Leone, inspired and empowered me to focus on establishing an infrastructure that will provide quality health services in Africa.
I believed in him, slowed down on my investments in the US, and now, seeing the genius advice bearing sweet fruits, with a state-of-the-art hospital in the Gambia, construction of another in Sierra Leone, with plans to expand in all the countries he owns investments, including Nigeria, which has one of the biggest economies in Africa.
His vision includes transferring skills and opportunities from the West, especially the US, where he has trusted high-level relationships and across the globe to Africa.
With that being said, Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally is a genius worth learning from, and through his visionary and legendary leadership, we can be the change we wish to see in Sierra Leone!!! So, please don’t give up.
Mrs. Zainab Musa Tarawally
