Police Declares Momoh Munu Wanted
Reports from, Wellington, eastern Freetown, reveal that one Momoh Munu residing at Jalloh Terrace, Brima Lane, has been declared wanted by the police on allegation of incitement leading to a riot between Muslims and Christians in the community, resulting in the deaths of three people.
According to Investigation mounted by this medium, the entire ugly incident was as a result of demands by members of the Mubarak mosque in the community that a church belonging to a Pentecostal group, Faith Bible Church, be expelled from the community. Our sources revealed that the elders of the church had acquired the land on which the church was built from Momoh Munu’s father……… while he was alive. Momoh Munu’s father is said to have bought a big land of about one acre, where he and his family were living (Momoh, his two younger brothers and two younger sisters and his mother). It was disclosed that Momoh’s mother was a Christian and his father, a Muslim, but there had been no tension in the family with respect to their respective faiths.
Residents in the area, who were privy to the establishment of the church on the said land, explained that the land was given to the General Overseer of the church, one Pastor Mambu, to open a branch there, and documents to the effect signed. Thus, a plot of land was demarcated for the church. Things went on well for a while, until Momoh’s mother died, and his father had to take another wife, who apparently, was the elder daughter of the Chief Imam, Sheik Hassan, who later bore a kid for him.
Our source furthered that things took a negative turn when Momoh lost his father and had to stay in the house with his stepmother, as his mother’s sister had taken his younger brothers and sisters into her care. As heir to the property of his father, as the eldest son, his stepmother approached him, requesting that he ask the church to vacate the land. Momoh rejected her request on the grounds that the church was legitimately on the land as per transactions between them and his late father. Animosity then developed between Momoh and his stepmother. She then took the matter to the Chief Imam of the mosque nearby (her father), who, in meeting with other members of the mosque, excumunicated Momoh from the mosque.
Things got to boiling point when the members in the mosque, on 15th April 2023, stormed the church, disrupting an ongoing service, demanding that they vacate the premises. Momoh was called to the scene by the Pastor of the branch church to explain about the status of the said property. While trying to tell the angry members from the mosque about the land and how the church was legitimately on the land, he was attacked by the brother of his stepmother, followed by others. Our source disclosed that Momoh was stabbed and had to be rushed to the nearest health facility for treatment, also the family house on the same land, was burnt down by the angry youths, including complete destruction of the church.
It was also disclosed that the members in the church also tried to defend themselves, and the whole incident blew out of proportion, with others in the community getting involved, resulting in the deaths of three people believed to be Muslims. Angry Muslim members went in search of Momoh, who was rescued by a close friend, who took him to the northern town of Kambia, where he was recouping from his injuries.
Continuing our Investigation in Kambia, this medium discovered from close sources of Momoh’s friend, who took him to the village, that Momoh’s stepmother and an unknown gentleman surfaced in Kambia, after getting information about his whereabouts and where he was residing. As they disembarked from the vehicle from Freetown, they found Momoh sitting outside the house he was staying, and she pointed at him, directing the man she came with.
Eyewitnesses say that the man simply pointed his finger at Momoh, and he immediately fell, convulsing and vomiting blood, and had to be rushed to the hospital. After examination at the hospital, nothing was discovered and they had to take him to a native doctor, for traditional treatment, as many familiar with such symptoms say that Momoh was shot with a ‘witch gun’ (a spiritual weapon widely used by paid traditionalists to silence opponents).
According to Momoh’s friend, he took Momoh to his uncle, a traditional healer, who administered some herbal treatment, resuscitating him. He furthered that while Momoh was taking treatment at the traditional healers place, some police officers came looking for him, and fortunately met his friend, enquiring about his whereabouts. He informed them that he had no knowledge about him, and when they left, he cautioned Momoh not to return to the house as the police were looking for him, allegedly on allegation of inciting the riot that saw three Muslims killed. Momoh is said to have gone into a nearby bush leading to a forest between Guinea and Sierra Leone, but our information is that the police have alerted border security about his disappearance and a demand for his arrest when seen. Momoh, our source disclosed, has not been seen since that day. It was also revealed that Momoh’s stepmother used her connection with top officials in the police to go after Momoh.
As we go to press the whereabouts of Momoh Munu are still unknown, and police sources have confirmed that he is on their wanted list.
