And from that moment threat message started coming from youths as well as stakeholders of the Secret Society that Mohamed Jalloh most join before he can fully be accepted as one of them and head of youths in the village a message was sent to him that they need him to join after several messages to him he kept on refusing to join and few weeks later he started experiencing several pains on his foot and the pain continue and was rush to the hospital but the pains continue with swelling of the feet to different shape until he was taking out of the hospital because things were not improving and was move to a traditional way to seek treatment after several try he was able to come back to normal and decided to return back to the village to continue with his farming.

Musa (not his real name for security reasons), a resident in the neighborhood, and also a member of the Gbanbanye society informed this medium that most of the time when young men are taking to the secret society bush not all of them will come back alive and that have been going on for a very long time family lost there sons into that secret society Bush and nothing happens he said he is afraid of there feature children that are coming up with who knows what the feature holds for them.
He furthered that in the morning, information went around the village that Mohamed Jalloh have left the village to another village through the help of his uncle.
After that effort proved futile, of wanted to forcefully join Mohamed Jalloh they then warned family members that if they hide him they will have to pay dearly with their lives, and his uncle was later taken away by the members of the society for betraying the society. Since it is a men secret society, women were not allowed to ask questions or even intimate that they witnessed what happened, as it will fetch a penalty of a dreaded curse on the women and family.
Another youth (name withheld for his security), Explain to this medium that whilst Mohamed Jalloh was away after seeing his mum and left the village for his safety her mum went in search for his son in the capital city Freetown after she heard that Mohamed was in freetown because she did not heard from him for a very long time unfortunately she was Killed by astra bullet by security forces during the August 10 2022 riots in freetown.
Family members spoken to says that since Mohamed Jalloh left the village because of fair for his life in the hand of the secret society members, they have not been able to set eyes on him, nor do they know of his whereabouts.
They only heard of his escape when the members came to look for him.
When asked why the matter was not reported to the police, they furthered that almost all the officers and the elders in the village are aware of such initiations, and a good number of them are members, as a result they will do nothing, except promises to look for him.
Family members says that on several occasions, the society members had visited their home and issued threats against them, including threats to kill Mohamed Jalloh when he is found.
In many parts of the country, initiation into secret societies is sanctioned by tradition, and elders cooperate fully. Women do not have a say on such matters, as they too have their own secret societies.
Whilst members of such societies claim that this system is their rite of passage to manhood, their rituals often result in deaths of some of the recruits, due to the inhumane traditional practices meted out on the initiates, as a result, a lot of young men avoid being conscripted for initiation. This inhumane traditional practice has not been largely condemned by the government, and there is outright denial that such things do not happen, Even in the cases of women secret societies, where the FGM is practiced.
As we go to press, the whereabouts of Mohamed Jalloh is still unknown and the search for him by the secret society continues unabated.
